The Mount Martha Annual Diamond (MMAD) swim is one of the feature events on the open water swimming calendar. Since 1997 the swim has been hosted by Mount Martha Life Saving Club and is one of the safest swims, with over 60 water safety personnel supporting swimmers over the day. There is an event to suit all abilities from the 200 metre Nipper swim, the 400 metre Novice swim, the 5km endurance swim, to the main event of the day being the 1.2km swim.
An added feature for the 1.2km swim this year, is a "Swim With a Friend, Family or Team" category. For this category, you can enjoy a social swim with a group of people of your choosing, regardless of age group.

REGISTRATION CHECK-IN
Registration will occur on the ground floor of the Life Saving Club. Please enter via the front car park. As it’s a tight space, only swimmers will be allowed into the Registration area.
Registration Check-In opens at 6.30am and closes 30 minutes before the Wave Start time.
RACE KIT
Your race kit will contain:

Returnable Transponder –once crossing the finish line please place your Transponder in the tubs provided. Lost transponders will incur a $99 fee.

Swimming cap in the correct colour for your allocated wave.

SWIM COURSES
All swim event courses will be clearly marked with buoys, and Mt Martha Life Saving Club members will be on the water to keep you safe and heading in the right direction.
The 200m, 400m and 1.2km events are single lap events. The 5km event is a two-lap event.

​​​SWIM SAFETY
All Swimmers:
-
are required to be at the start 15 minutes prior to the start of their Wave, in time for the Race Briefing
-
must wear the nominated swim cap and timing band
Qualified life savers will monitor swimmers safety from the land and water. Please do not hesitate to call for assistance by raising your arm in the air.
Medical assistance is readily available on the beach at the finish line.
Consider wearing a wetsuit for extra warmth.

​CAR PARKING
Please ensure you are legally parked. The Council has advised By Laws Officers will be enforcing car parking regulations on the day.
Off Street Car Parking
Mount Martha Cricket/ Football Ground, Seppelt Avenue Mt.Martha. Enter from Nepean Highway to avoid the traffic congestion along the Esplanade. This parking is a 1km/ 15 min flat walk to the Clubhouse, without any road crossings. Note: the last 100m of this walk is along the beach. This is a lovely walk along a boardwalk in the Balcombe estuary, a nice way to see the wetlands of Mount Martha.

WETSUITS & SWIMMING AIDS
Wetsuits and goggles are allowed and recommended for safety reasons.
No flippers or other swimming aids are allowed unless approved by the Organising Committee. This includes, but not limited to, fins, boards, snorkels, floatation gear and personal support teams. Please make your request through the website www.mmadswim.com.au
GEAR DROP
Gear drop is located at the Lifesaving Club for those needing assistance for storage of personal belongings during the event. Belongings will be available for collection at this same location at the completion of your swim. Valuables are left at your own risk.

EVENT CANCELLATION
As per the entry conditions, in the event of circumstances beyond our control, such as severe weather or poor water quality, the event may need to be cancelled at short notice. This decision will not be taken lightly, however we will unconditionally put safety first when making this decision.
No refunds will be provided in the event of a cancellation, any money left after costs will be a donation to Mt Martha Lifesaving Club. T-shirts will still be provided.
